Ruthless People by J.J. McAvoy Review by Liz

Ruthless People
by
J.J. McAvoy

Summary:
To the outside world, they look like American Royalty, giving to charities, feeding the homeless, rebuilding the city. But behind closed doors is a constant battle for dominance between two Bosses, cultures, and hearts.
Ruthless People is a romantic crime fiction set in modern day Chicago, and follows the life and marriage of Melody Giovanni and Liam Callahan—rivals by blood and leaders through fear. Their marriage, arranged by their fathers in hopes to end years of bloodshed between the Irish and the Italians.
Liam believes he’s getting a simple-minded wife, one he can control, one who bends to his every need...the complete opposite of Melody. She knows exactly what type of man he is, and would rather die than give up the power she has spent her life building.
The Mafia of the past has evolved, and with rival bosses gunning for them, Melody and Liam will have to learn to work as one to take down those who stand in their way.
1 Marriage x 2 Bosses = 3x the Chaos

Liz’s Review:
Liam Callahan is a strong and sometimes harsh man. When he agreed to the marriage contract with the Giovanni’s, he thought he was getting a meek woman who would be what he thought was the perfect image of a wife—silent and obedient. What he got was anything but.
Melody Giovanni grew up in a world of guns and drugs. As much as her father wanted to prevent it, she became the boss. She ruled with an iron fist and wasn’t about to stand down to any man—including her husband.
Liam doesn’t want to share his empire, Mel refuses to take a back seat. What happens is a full scale fireworks display that leaves everyone feeling the heat. Fire and ice, that is Liam and Mel. Ice to the world, but fire in the bedroom. They show no mercy, to each other or their enemies.
Ruthless People is an intense ride that I was happy to climb aboard. Twists and turns leave you thirsty for more. Once you start, you can’t stop reading. You’ll want to throttle both Mel and Liam, but you’ll also find yourself rooting for them. I hope you’ll join this couple as they fall in love and rise to power. This is definitely one book that I could read over and over again.
Hold onto your seats and strap in for a wild ride!

About the Author and Links:
I’m a twenty-year-old something born in Montreal, Canada but currently living in Virginia for school. I would tell you want my major is however after two years I still have no idea what I’m doing.
So I’m a writer (duh that’s how you found me), movie enthusiast, and self-proclaimed chef. I love music even though I can’t sing or dance to save my life. (That doesn’t necessarily stop me but you’ve been warned.)
I started Ruthless People the summer of 2013 in hopes of giving myself a new type of love and crime drama. I never knew so many people thought like me! I feel truly blessed to have fans like you all! Writing is my true love and having you all enjoy my words is a dream come true.
