About The Author:
Sarah Daltry writes erotica and romance that ranges from sweet to steamy. She moves around a lot and has trouble committing to things. Lily of the Valley is her third full length novel, although she also has several story collections and two novellas available. Her other novels are Forget Me Not, the story that tells Lily’s version of events, and Bitter Fruits, which was available shortly, but is now in the contract phase with a major publisher. When Sarah isn’t writing, she tends to waste a lot of time checking Facebook for pictures of cats, shooting virtual zombies, and simply staring out the window.

At work, though, the people are real. Both the customers and the staff. During the busy times, we get more douchebags, mostly my classmates who probably should be in the library and not eating a hangover away. Mal is also on this morning. He’s a recovering alcoholic, a total asshole to nearly everyone, and an incredibly shitty employee in a lot of ways. But the dude can cook and when I walk in a couple minutes late with no explanation, Mal just shrugs and hands me an order.
“Big parties last night?”
“Huge party. I spent the night reading Dostoevsky.”
“He a scientist?” Mal flips over the largest slab of ham I have ever seen. For all the sort of dive element of this place, the food is still fucking great.
“Yeah, something like that.”
“Eh. Never cared for all that mumbo jumbo. Don’t know any of it and I’m doing just fine.”
That’s something else I admire about Mal. By no one’s standards is he doing just fine. He has a tendency to fall off the wagon as soon as he approaches his ten month anniversary – which he has been doing for likely longer than I have been alive. He’s been married and divorced five times. He has three kids who don’t speak to him. Finally, he only eats the food from the café and he lives in a motel out by the prison. Oh – and he works as a short order cook in a shitty café. But in his mind, life is just fine. Sometimes, I think I need to get a hold of whatever it is that keeps him from losing his shit.
We settle into our routine, since there is little Mal and I can talk about. I can’t discuss Raskolnikov’s character traits and Mal simply has nothing to say. So we cook in silence, but it’s comfortable. After everything I have been through, I feel a strange affinity for this place. Even thinking about leaving when I eventually get the hell out of town makes me a little sad. I hate that it makes me sad. I want to leave with no connections, with no strings.
I go to stick an order on the counter for Liz when I see her. Strawberries. She’s with some dude, who is basically what I pictured when she mentioned her boyfriend. Broad, tan, blond, and eating like a fucking pig. I don’t know what they’re talking about and I can’t see her face, but he loves her. It’s immediately recognizable and I hate him for it. I don’t even know why I hate him for it, since at least maybe he’s not as much of a dick as I would have expected. If we had been placing bets, I would have gone with the safe assumption he had something else on the side to make up for having such a sweet and pure girlfriend. I wonder if maybe she isn’t as innocent as she looks. The thought makes me horny again. I don’t get what is so damn attractive about this typical girl, but something makes me want to taste every inch of her skin.

Heather's Review for Trust Me by Joan Callahan

Trust Me by Joan Callahan

Heather's Review:

This is an interesting story. At first it was a little hard to get into the plot line, but I stuck with it and I’m super glad that I did. We follow psychologist Beth Carter as she balances her practice from her in-home office and raising her four sons as a single mother. Her brood offers very interesting humor and extreme frustration. At times you want to just shake them and say “stop being such a smartass” and rolling on the floor laughing so hard that you have tears in your eyes.

Between the daily doses of her sons’ antics, her weekly sessions with three of her patients, an ex-husband who decided he was allergic to their fourth son, and a russian housekeeper, Beth learns a few things about herself, those around her, and life in general.

Trust Me is a well written story with well rounded characters. At times it can be a little trying to get into the plot, but it’s a well rounded tale of facing life’s little idiosyncrasies and those that we meet can change our lives no matter how little their presence may seem at the time.

Beth Carter is a psychologist to many and a single mother to four unruly boys. Patients might almost be manageable, but her boys aren’t. While the household lurches inevitably from one catastrophe to another, Beth finds herself barely managing to hold onto the vital threads of sanity whilst leading her often complex patients through their own remarkable journeys.

Beth finds it to be a lonely venture, leading her to look for love—but in all the wrong places.

About the Author:

Joan Callahan is a clinical psychologist practicing in Melbourne, Australia. She commenced her career teaching English and history at the prestigious Melbourne High School and later retrained in the field of psychology. Joan set up her own private practice and has a heavy forensic caseload, while providing consultancies to commerce, industry, and government. She also enjoys several mediation contracts. She particularly likes working with anxiety disorders, couples, and the full spectrum of psychological disorders.

Joan is the divorced mother of three boys, has three brothers, and three grandsons—not to mention that she taught only boys at Melbourne High School. By her sheer survival as teacher, mother, and psychologist, she considers herself something of an expert on boys. Joan loves her job, going to the gym, making bread, (boring, boring, boring. Next it will be romantic fireside chats and long walks on the beach at sunset!), socializing widely, and travelling around the world as often as she can with the love of her life. Her vast travels around the USA have provided fodder for the third book in this series as the inimitable Carter clan enjoy the wilds of Yeehaw Junction.

Life remains wonderfully hectic. Any similarity between Joan’s life and Beth’s is not purely coincidental. Beth’s patients are pure fiction; her dogs are not. Her boys? Close!

A Review by Lexi for~Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters

Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters

The novel Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters presents us the dark story of Tess Snow's journey from the hot Australia to the even hotter Mexico and then...who knows where.

Tess’ boyfriend, Brax, surprises her with a romantic trip to Mexico. She is thrilled when she finds out where he decided to take her, but what happens when they decide to adventure by themselves on the streets of the big, passionate city of Cancun? Tess goes through a lot of dark twisted things—will she be able to make her way home? Will she survive all of what’s happened to her without any torment?

In all true words, I could not be more happy that I raised my hand to read this novel when it was presented to us. This is a very dark story and not for the faint of heart. I, myself, am not very good with twisted stories, but something pulled my curiosity with this one. I cried with Tess, suffered with her, loved with her and I couldn’t be happier about it.

This heart wrenching story is very beautifully written, with a passion and depth that I longed to read for a very long time. The characters are so well contoured and have amazing depth to them that it will leave you panting for more even before you finish the book.

Tears of Tess has a strong beginning and the story is kept like that throughout the whole novel. Every single page is a cliffhanger. I couldn’t put it down for a second, I spent my whole day devouring word-for-word, grasping sentence for sentence, not wanting it to end.

I loved every single bit of this novel, from its beautiful cover to the heart wrenching plot of the story to the marvelous art work at the beginning of each chapter. It is by far, the most dark and twisted novel I’ve ever read, but nonetheless beautiful in every single way. I truly recommend this story to those who are searching a dark contemporary romance and are not afraid to read a bit of hardcore-passionate BDSM.

I am honored to have read and reviewed such a beautiful story, and I would be as honored to read the sequel to it Quintessentially brought to us soon by the lovely Pepper Winters.

Author Bio

Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero, the better, and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex… her books have sex.

She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends.

Her debut book Tears of Tess will be followed with Quintessentially Q. You didn’t think Q could stop so soon, did you? Her other two titles, Last Shadow and Broken Chance will be coming soon.

When fate brings you face-to-face with what your heart desires, how can you ignore it?
Violet Weathers, the world’s top supermodel, is in Omaha, Nebraska for two weeks shooting a campaign for a new skincare line that she’s the fresh new face of.
When her car breaks down on the way to the hotel, she is rescued by a hot mechanic who just might make her stay in Omaha more bearable.

“Have you bought many girls here? Is this like your make-out spot?”
“No, you’re the first,” he chuckled, running his fingers through my hair. “Do you have any idea how beautiful you are? Any guy would give his life to be me right now.”
“I doubt that, Blake.”
You, Violet, have so much light in you. I’ve never felt so alive before and I know it’s because of you.”
“You can be incredibly sweet,” I groaned as he pulled me down toward his lips. My hands dug into the sand when he deepened the kiss, sweeping his tongue in to meet mine.
Kissing Blake was quickly becoming one of my favorite pastimes.
“I want you, Violet,” he snarled, snaking his hand down my back.
“Here?” I gasped. What if someone saw us? I couldn’t chance any paparazzi catching us and taking pictures. It would be on the front page of every trashy tabloid out there within hours. Something like that coming out could put an end to my career.
“No one comes here. It’s a secluded beach,” he purred, running his fingers up my legs. “Let me love you here, Beautiful.” I couldn’t resist him—I didn’t want to.
Blake effortlessly rolled us over so he was hovering above me. His lips began to move down my jaw while his hands continued their way up my dress.
“I’ve never had sex outside before,” I murmured into his ear as his mouth moved toward my neck.
“Violet Weathers has never had sex outside?” Blake teased, acting horrified at the thought.
“Don’t mock me,” I pouted, slapping his arm playfully.
“I guess I better make this good then, huh? No pressure,” he smoldered, slipping his hand into my panties.
“FuckBBlBlake,” I groaned, fisting the sand above my head as his fingers slipped inside me. “A little warning would have been nice.”
“Oh, you love it when I do this,” he mused, stroking my clit. “You’re getting wetter by the second. What is it, Baby? Is it being outside? Does that excite you?” I nodded frantically, closing my eyes as he began to really work my body. “Open the top of your sundress for me,” he said huskily. I did as he asked, quickly unbuttoning it and exposing my baby pink bra to him. “Pull the cups down, too,” he demanded. Blake almost had me at the brink already; I could feel my climax quickly approaching. Pulling my bra cups down, I exposed my breasts to him.
The moment he leaned down and sucked my right nipple into his mouth, I exploded around his fingers.
“OhGodBlake,” I groaned out into the open air.
“I love watching you climax,” he grinned from in between my breasts.
“You are very good at making me cum,” I giggled, watching him undo his trousers before tearing open a condom.
“I’m better when I use this,” he mused, gesturing toward his covered erection. Blake pushed my dress up around my waist, caressing my skin as he went. I wrapped my legs around his hips, surprising him by my sudden advance as I drew him closer to me. “A little anxious, are we?” he winked.
“I want to see what all the fuss is about when it comes to outdoor sex,” I countered, lifting my ass up slightly to feel the tip of his cock at my entrance.
Blake’s eyes turned hooded with a deep desire as he grabbed my hips and filled me in one swift motion.
“You better hold on,” he grunted, pulling almost completely out and then slamming right back inside me. “This is going to be rough.”
“Ughyes,” I groaned, letting Blake take me to new heights as the sun caressed my skin. I’d never had a sexual experience like it.

“How was that for your first experience with outdoor sex?” Blake asked, doing the buttons on the top of my dress back up.
“Amazing,” I panted, holding my stomach as I tried to regain my breath. “Feeling the breeze touch your skin while someone is bringing you to lifeI have no words.”
“Is that how I make you feel?” He looked stunned.
“You make me feel a lot of things, Blake,” I admitted, stroking his chin.
The air between us began to thicken before he finally spoke. “We should open the champagne,” he muttered, watching my lips.
“Good idea,” I beamed, stretching to get the glasses that had fallen into the sand.
The rest of the afternoon was blissful as we lay on the blanket talking about anything and everything, and occasionally getting lost in each other.
